(This is a reprint of one of my client newsletters published in May 2011. There seems to be an outbreak of the above in the general population and therefore I thought blog readers might benefit from the article as well.) One of the more remarkable aspects of having a claim in the “safety zone” (EDU) is accepting the [...]

Recently, a former private investigator forwarded to me a “yearbook” of pictures of Unum claims handlers and personnel she was able to download from Facebook. Although nearly all of the Unum employees did not portray themselves well on their Facebook pages, DCS, Inc. has made a decision not to publish these photos on the Blog. [...]

Today Michael Moore published and interesting piece on his blog titled ”Corporate America is Pitching Us Off the Cliff”. My first reaction was, “Hey Michael…..tell me about it!” Unum’s been planning my personal demise since 2002 when I first began whistle blowing to management about unfair and often illegal claims practices. Prior to the NBC Dateline and 60 [...]

Although in the past DCS suspected Unum and other insurers read Lindanee’s Blog, I feel fairly certain the companies “check in” on a regular basis.  Actually, I view the attention of one of the largest disability insurers in America as a very flattering interesting phenomena. We welcome all readers to Lindanee’s Blog, including the insurance [...]
